April 25-29

Happy Monday! 

Thank you all so much for your prayers for me and my family, especially my mom. They were heard and God is good! I also appreciate all the grace given to me being out all week. Mrs. B is amazing and did a wonderful job filling in for me. We'll be working things out and adjusting due dates this week to get back on track. 

We are looking forward to Grandparents' Day on Thursday! We are also looking forward to Workathon next week. Please be sure your child is collecting their donations to help raise money for our school. 

Here is what is going on next week: 

Monday- PE, Latin, Music 

Tuesday- Band, Art

Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin, Math Test 

Thursday- PE, Latin

Friday- Assembly, Library, Band, Spelling Test, Geography Quiz 

Here is what we are learning this week: 

Science- We will continue our study of plants and animals. 

Math- We will be reviewing and completing an investigation on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday the students will have a math test. Thursday and Friday we will have lessons on ratio problems involving totals and mass and weight. 

Literature- We will continue to read Redwall! 

Bible- The students will continue to study Colossians this week. They will also be receiving a new memory verse-Colossians 3:12-17. This memory verse will be due on May 17th. 

Grammar- This week we will review indirect objects and the different verb tenses. 

Writing- The students' final copies of their research papers will be due by Friday. We will begin working on persuasive essays this week! 

History- We will be studying the Anabaptists this week including Grebel, Sattler, Hoffman, Matthys, and Simons. 

Geography- The students will have a quiz on the Middle East on Friday. We will then label the rest of the Middle East on Fridays well. 

Spelling- The students will be assigned Lesson 27 this week. Homework will be due on Thursday with a test on Friday.

Happy Friday and happy last post of 6th grade!  Our last week of "real" school is done! The students have been working so incredibly hard and I am so proud of them. Thanks for all you've been doing at home, too!  The students have their Redwall projects due on Monday! They've been working on them all week in class. We will also be watching the Redwall movie and enjoying our feast as well! Monday afternoon the students will participate in a field day with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. The kids should wear their team colors. For 6th grade, kids are either on the white team or the gray team. They know what team they are on!  Any students who didn't finish their geography projects in class are allowed to take them home and finish them over the weekend.  Tuesday we will begin cleaning and will also be having a party in the afternoon, the details of which I am not knowledgeable about :)  Wednesday we will finish cleaning and finish watching Redwall, as we close out our year

May 16-20

Happy Thursday!  We had an awesome week exploring the Wild West! God gave us beautiful weather and safety and so many wonderful volunteers to make it such a fun week!  This coming week we will return, mostly, to a normal schedule. We are looking forward to our field trip to the zoo on Thursday! We aren't leaving until 9 am, so the students will still have PE since it is first period.  Here is what is going on next week:  Monday- PE, Latin, Music  Tuesday- Band, Art, Math Test, Memory Verse due  Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin, Math Test  Thursday- PE, Field Trip to the Zoo!  Friday- Assembly, Library, Band, Latin, Spelling Test Here is what we are learning this week:  Science- We will continue our study of animals!  Math- On Monday our lesson will be on two-step equations. Tuesday there will be a test.
