November 1-5

Happy Wednesday!  We enjoyed our short week, with lots of special activities including a chocolate party, a pep rally, and celebrating a passover meal!  We are looking forward to one week of normal before we go into a short week again. Please be sure to get me a permission slip if you haven't already. We are so excited to go on this field trip!  Here is what is going on this week:  Monday-   PE, Latin, Music  Tuesday- Band, Art, Math Test  Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin Thursday- PE, Latin Friday- Assembly, Library, Band, Spelling Test  Here is what we are learning this week:  Science- We'll be heading towards the end of our unit on flight. We'll be doing a fun rocket activity and will finish watching a documentary we've been watching all on flight.  Math- The students will have a test on Tuesday, which they'll be working through with Mrs. B and me. October 25-29

Happy Thursday!  We've finished the 1st quarter! I'm so proud of all the hard work the students have done. We were talking this morning about how quickly time this first quarter has gone by. They get to enjoy a Friday off and a short week next week!  The permission slips were sent out yesterday for the Science Center. Please return them as soon as you are able! Here is what is going on this week:  Monday-   PE, Latin, Music  Tuesday- Band, Art, Final Narrative Story drafts due  Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin Thursday- No School!  Friday- No School!  Here is what we are learning this week:  Science- We'll continue to learn about flight! We'll be studying the forces that are at work to allow flight to happen, as well as how airplanes are controlled. The students will be experimenting with propellors!  Math- Lessons this week will be on expanded notation, writing percents as fractions, and decimal place value.  Literature- We'll continue to read through Phantom Tollboot

October 11-15

Happy Friday!  We're heading into the last two weeks of the 1st quarter. We have several tests and projects due this week, so I've been encouraging the kids to stay on top of things and use their time wisely!  Wednesday we'll be having a special speaker come in. Pastor Dennis Handley will be sharing his expertise on planes and bring items in to share and talk about! Happy Friday!  It has been a thoroughly enjoyable week with things returning mostly to normal! I'm working on getting grades fully updated this weekend, as I've been sorting through all the work coming in after quarantine. Thanks for your patience!  We are looking forward to a spirit week next week. Your child does not need to participate in the dress up days. If they do not, they should wear dress code clothing.
