February 28-March 4

Happy Friday!  We had a great short week, started off with our school wide speech meet. I am so proud of every 6th grader and the work they put in for each of their pieces!  We are only two weeks away from spring break. We are looking forward to a normal 5 day week of school, so we'll continue to work hard and pray everyone stays healthy!  Please send in the order form for the class book, if you haven't already done so. I'm hoping to get the books sent off before spring break, but I will need all the order forms in order to do that. February 21-25

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend! We jumped back into school with the school wide speech meet! It was a joy to hear everyone's pieces and enjoy being together as a school.  Here is what is going on this week:  Monday- No School!  Tuesday- Band, Art  Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin Thursday- PE, Latin, Spelling Test, Math Test  Friday- Assembly, Library, Band, Spelling Test  Here is what we are learning this week:  Science- This week we are launching into our new unit on weather!  Math- Math lessons this week be on writing fractions and decimals as percents and comparing fractions by converting to decimal form. There will also be a test on Thursday!  Literature- We will continue to read Redwall.  Bible- The students will be assigned their new memory verse this week. We will also continue to study Paul, reading and learning about his second missionary journey.  Grammar- We will continue to learn about direct objects and will also look at verb tenses.  Writing-

February 14-18

Happy Monday!  We packed a lot of things into last week! Your kids performed their wonderful speech meet pieces. They also prepared awesome science experiments that we presented to 1st and 2nd grade! The students are working hard and I love seeing their creativity too.  We have a short week! The students have Friday and Monday off. We'll work hard and get lots done in this short week!  The school wide speech meet is on Tuesday, February 22nd. This event is closed to people outside of the building, but we will be live streaming and recording it. February 7-11

Happy Monday!  I hope your child thoroughly enjoyed our rain/snow days! It certainly provided a nice mini break for us all. We'll be adjusting our schedule and jumping back into things this week.  Thursday we will be having our class speech meet! Your child should have been memorizing their piece for the past couple of months. The top 3 performers from the class will move on to the school speech meet on Tuesday, February 22nd.  Tuesday the students will have their spelling test and geography quiz that was going to be on Friday. The students will still do a normal spelling lesson routine this week, with this week being a review week.  Also, a reminder that next Monday is Valentine's Day!
