February 14-18

Happy Monday! 

We packed a lot of things into last week! Your kids performed their wonderful speech meet pieces. They also prepared awesome science experiments that we presented to 1st and 2nd grade! The students are working hard and I love seeing their creativity too. 

We have a short week! The students have Friday and Monday off. We'll work hard and get lots done in this short week! 

The school wide speech meet is on Tuesday, February 22nd. This event is closed to people outside of the building, but we will be live streaming and recording it. That link will be shared soon! 

Here is what is going on this week: 

Monday- PE, Latin, Music 

Tuesday- Band, Art, Bible Test 

Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin

Thursday- PE, Latin, Spelling Test, Bible Memory Verse due, Geography Quiz (optional) 

Friday- No School! 

Here is what we are learning this week: 

Science- We will be wrapping up our unit on matter this week. We'll be making our own ice cream as well as reviewing for the test, which will be next week. 

Math- Math lessons this week be on parallelograms, multiplying 3 fractions, exponents, writing decimal numbers as fractions, and writing fractions as decimal numbers. 

Literature- We will continue to read Redwall! 

Bible- The students will have their test over unit 7 on Tuesday. The memory verse, Ephesians 6:13-18a, is due Thursday. In-between those days we will continue to study Paul's first missionary journey. 

Grammar- We will be moving to our second grammar books, woohoo! They'll be reviewing possessive nouns and interjections. 

Writing- The students will be working on their writing pieces for a book we are going to publish. 

History- We will be finishing up our study on Jan Hus and will then move into studying Martin Luther. 

Geography- The geography quiz will be optional to take either this Thursday or the following Tuesday. 

Spelling- The lesson 19 words will be assigned. The homework will be due on Wednesday and the test will be on Thursday.
