August 30- September 3

Happy Friday!  We made it through the first 3 days! The kids were absolute champs with the extremely warm weather! We've already been having fun and I really hope that your kids have been enjoying these first few days. With our first full week coming up, we'll be jumping right into our subjects!  Here is what is going on this week:  Monday-PE, Latin, Music  Tuesday- Band, Art  Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin  Thursday- PE, Latin  Friday- Elementary Assembly, Library, Band  Science- We're studying the immune system! We'll be looking at communicable and non-communicable diseases.  Math- We started lesson 1 today! This week we'll be completing lessons 2-6, looking at multiplying and dividing whole numbers, missing numbers in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, order of operations, and fractional parts.  Literature- We'll be starting our first novel, Tuck Everlasting! We've started on some vocabulary and discussion already. We'll the first 6 c

 Welcome to 6th grade!  This is the 6th grade blog, where the plans and the general outline for the week will be posted at the end of each week. You are welcome to subscribe so you can receive notifications when posts are made. Again, I'll be posting any tests or projects that are due, but daily homework will be the responsibility of your 6th grader to remember.  Here is what is going on this week:  Monday-No School!  Tuesday- No School!  Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin  Thursday- PE, Latin  Friday- Library, Band  In this section of the blog I would typically write out each subject area and what we will be studying in each subject. Since it is the first 3 days of school, we won't be doing any intense academics, just some introductions! For next week I will write out each subject and what we will be doing.
