March 28- April 1

Happy Friday! 

We are closing in on the last week of the third quarter. AR points are all due by the end of the week! I touched base with every student about how many points they have, so they all know what they need to accomplish in the next week. 

To celebrate the end of the third quarter, we will be having an ice cream and DEAR day celebration for a portion of our day Friday. Please see my email for more information! 

The students also had an assembly today about the Workathon! A flyer with information was sent home with your child today. Please see it for more information. 

Here is what is going on next week: 

Monday- PE, Latin, Music

Tuesday- Band, Art, Math Test 

Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin

Thursday- PE, Latin, Research Paper Rough Draft Due 

Friday- Assembly, Library, Band, Spelling Test

Here is what we are learning this week: 

Science- We will continue on our study of plants and animals, looking at cells. 

Math- Monday the students will complete an investigation activity with our next math test on Tuesday. Lessons for the rest of the week will be on geometric formulas, expanded notation with exponents, order of operations with exponents, and powers of fractions. 

Literature- We will continue to read Redwall! 

Bible- We will continue our study of Paul's third missionary journey. The students will be assigned their new memory verse. 

Grammar- This week we will review all the verb tenses we have studied so far. 

Writing- The students' rough draft of their research papers are due Thursday. We will be peer editing them in class on Thursday and Friday. 

History- We will be studying Albrecht Durer and Zwingli. 

Geography- The students will label the Middle East on Friday.. 

Spelling- Lesson 24 will be on the docket for this week. It is a review week! Words will be assigned on Monday. The homework will be due on Thursday and the test will be on Friday.
