March 21-25

Happy Friday and happy spring break!! 

We made it to break! We do not have school at all next week, so this schedule applies to the following week. I hope your child can thoroughly enjoy the break! :) 

The third quarter ends on April 1st, so please encourage your child to continue to read and get their AR points for the quarter! 15 are required. 

Here is what is going on next week: 

Monday- PE, Latin, Music

Tuesday- Band, Art, Memory Verse due 

Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin

Thursday- PE, Latin

Friday- Assembly, Library, Band, Spelling Test, Geography Quiz 

Here is what we are learning this week: 

Science- We will begin our next unit, studying plants and animals! 

Math- Math lessons this week be on area of a circle, finding missing factors, using proportions to solve ratio problems, estimating square roots, and measuring turns. 

Literature- We will continue to read Redwall! 

Bible- The memory verse, James 2:2-8, is due Tuesday, March 22nd. We will continue our study of Paul's third missionary journey. 

Grammar- This week we will review the perfect verb tense as well as learn about the progressive tense. 

Writing- The students will continue to work on their research papers. 

History- We will be studying Charles V and Albrecht Durer.   

Geography- The quiz on Asia will be on Friday, March 25th. 

Spelling- The lesson 23 words will be assigned on Monday. The homework will be due on Thursday and the test will be on Friday.

Happy Wednesday!  We enjoyed our short week, with lots of special activities including a chocolate party, a pep rally, and celebrating a passover meal!  We are looking forward to one week of normal before we go into a short week again. February 14-18

Happy Monday!  We packed a lot of things into last week! Your kids performed their wonderful speech meet pieces. They also prepared awesome science experiments that we presented to 1st and 2nd grade! The students are working hard and I love seeing their creativity too.  We have a short week! The students have Friday and Monday off. We'll work hard and get lots done in this short week!  The school wide speech meet is on Tuesday, February 22nd. This event is closed to people outside of the building, but we will be live streaming and recording it. Happy Friday!  It has been a thoroughly enjoyable week with things returning mostly to normal! I'm working on getting grades fully updated this weekend, as I've been sorting through all the work coming in after quarantine. Thanks for your patience!  We are looking forward to a spirit week next week. Your child does not need to participate in the dress up days. If they do not, they should wear dress code clothing.
