Life in 6th Grade

Happy Friday!  We are closing in on the last week of the third quarter. AR points are all due by the end of the week! I touched base with every student about how many points they have, so they all know what they need to accomplish in the next week.  To celebrate the end of the third quarter, we will be having an ice cream and DEAR day celebration for a portion of our day Friday. Please see my email for more information!  The students also had an assembly today about the Workathon! A flyer with information was sent home with your child today. Happy Friday and happy spring break!!  We made it to break! We do not have school at all next week, so this schedule applies to the following week. I hope your child can thoroughly enjoy the break! :)  The third quarter ends on April 1st, so please encourage your child to continue to read and get their AR points for the quarter! 15 are required.  Here is what is going on next week:  Monday- PE, Latin, Music Tuesday- Band, Art, Memory Verse due  Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin Thursday- PE, Latin Friday- Assembly, Library, Band, Spelling Test, Geography Quiz  Here is what we are learning this week:  Science- We will begin our next unit, studying plants and animals!  Math- Math lessons this week be on area of a circle, finding missing factors, using proportions to solve ratio problems, estimating square roots, and measuring turns.  Literature- We will continue to read Redwall!  Bible- The memory verse, James 2:2-8, is due Tuesday, March 22nd...
