September 6-10

Happy Saturday! 

We successfully completed our first full week. It continues to be a joy getting to know your kids! We also had our classroom aid, Mrs. Bindschadler, start this week! She'll be helping in our classroom this year and she is such a joy! 

We'll be adding more to our routine this week, including spelling. Mr. Iriana also worked with the kids on Friday to set up their Trinity email addresses and helped us log into the chrome books. 

Here is what is going on this week: 

Monday-No School! 

Tuesday- Band, Art 

Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin 

Thursday- PE, Latin 

Friday- Elementary Assembly, Library, Band, Spelling Test 


Here is what we are learning this week: 

Science- We'll continue studying the immune system! Lessons this week are on how medicines help the immune system and how we can care for my immune system. We'll then start on a small in class activity. 

Math- Lessons 7-10 will be covered this week, looking at lines, segments, rays and linear measure, perimeter, the number line, and sequences and scales. 

Literature- We'll continue reading through Tuck Everlasting and completing activities in class. 

Bible- The students have been assigned their first memory verse, which will be due Thursday, September 16th. We'll also continue to study the land and timeline of the Bible. 

Grammar- We will be continuing to review the basic parts of speech, completing some worksheets to familiarize us with Shurley English. 

Writing- The students have started to work on the outlines for their narrative essay. This week we'll be learning how to properly write using quotation marks. 

History- We studied Petrarch last week and we'll be studying Giotto this week! 

Geography- We'll be continuing to study South America and their first quiz won't be until the following week. 

Spelling- We will start spelling this week! Lesson 1 will be assigned on Tuesday and the pages will be due Thursday. On Thursday, I'll check homework and we'll take a practice test. Friday will be the final, graded test.
