Happy Sunday!
It was a great end to the week, with picture day, Book Character Day, and most of the students returning! We are looking forward to a more normal week next week!
Here is what is going on this week:
Monday-PE, Latin, Music
Tuesday- Band, Art
Wednesday- Music, Band, Latin
Thursday- PE, Latin, 1st Drafts of Stories due
Friday- Elementary Assembly, Library, Band, Spelling Test, Geography Quiz
Here is what we are learning this week:
Science- We'll be finishing up our unit on the nervous system. The students will have a test the following Tuesday, October 5th.
Math- Lessons this week will be on fractions, mixed numbers, average, line graphs, prime numbers, facts, and greatest common factors. We'll be completing another investigation on Friday with a fun fraction activity :)
Literature- We'll be finishing up our first novel, Tuck Everlasting! The students will be assigned a project and will have a test the following week. We'll also enjoy watching the movie version of our novel.
Bible- Unit 3 will continue with lessons on the raising of Lazarus, Jesus at Bethany, and the healing of the 10 lepers. The students have also been assigned a new memory verse.
Grammar- We will be continuing to review Shurley and work on prepositional phrases.
Writing- The students' first draft of their story will be due on Thursday. We'll be editing them in class!
History- The students will be studying Cosimo deMedici.
Geography- The quiz on Central America will be on Friday. The students will also be completing a small in class project on a state with a partner.
Spelling- Students will complete lesson 4 this week. Words and homework will be assigned on Monday, due Thursday, with a test on Friday.
